About the Site Administrator
My name is Gilbert Mendoza, and I’m a network and information security engineer based out of Southern California, USA.
For more information about me, I run a a personal self titled website located at GilbertMendoza.com.
I have been a GNU/Linux enthusiast since 1999, spending much of my early days learning and hacking away on the Slackware and Debian platforms. I’ve always made a conscious effort to work with as many distributions as possible, eager to learn how each project is working to make the GNU/Linux platform ever more accessible and easy to use both for home users and the enterprise. Like many others, this is why I appreciate Ubuntu, Canonical and the community that makes the distribution so successful.
Over the years I have valued the ideals of the FOSS community, and now make every effort to help others discover the free and open world of technology.
Site Contributors
Currently, I am the only contributor of site content, but I hope this will change! If you are interested in adding content to SavvyAdmin.com, please drop me a line via the site’s Contact page.
SavvyAdmin.com is a tech blog. The name of the site reflects it’s primary audience of information technology professionals and enthusiasts, but is really open to anyone that digs tech. Although you will find a lot of Linux related topics here, this site is not intended to promote one platform over any other. Instead, you will find information on multiple operating systems, network engineering, and information security; all of which are applicable for both home use and within the enterprise.
The goals are quite simple…
1. Openly discuss technology industry news and related issues.
2. Provide useful book reviews, tech-tips and detailed how-to’s for a variety of tech topics.
3. Encourage communication, networking and learning among peers.
I hope you enjoy the content.
